Chris Isaak - Mr Chicago did a bad bad dub

Photo Cred: Owen's

Totally chilled dub remix by MrChiago, yet it grooves along for the first three minutes with momentum building all the time. The delayed guitar licks take over with the vocals playing off the groove. More grooviness follows along with a heavy pad to chill the vibe right out. Another breakdown just leaves you wanting  more, and the track delivers. Great stuff, can be had from the Soundcloud page: here

Claps, cajon-like hand percussion and some sublime guitar work keep this track relentlessly ticking over. Its earthy and ethnic. The incessant entrancing groove would have me break out into a tribal dance while the vocal cries out with an abundance of soul and universal meaning. Group Bambino - Imuhar

Classy tune, solid 4/4 (or is it 2/2?) rhythm, delicate electric piano licks, groovy bluesy guitar licks following the vocals and a great arrangement. You have to love it! Available to download here.

Deep groovy house beats are accompanied by some old time Jamaican vocals, guitar and dub style effects in this slow-burning slice of genius. Keeps on building, deeper and deeper willing you to dance. You can find it here

Fever Ray - If I Had a Heart (Familjen Remix)

After a long break during which time I was waiting for my mp3 player to arrive back from Germany in the post (it never did), I'm back and ready to point out some more top quality tunes on the blog circuit. This is a five star remix, faithful to the original while adding another dimension. Both tracks are great. Here's the remix:
